Inspired by an article,  "The Advent of Cryptobanking,"  by Farzam Ehsani I started formulating ideas for a crypto-only banking institution and in June of 2017 formed a company in Gibraltar to offer banking-like functions in cryptocurrency. Chicago Bitcoin Exchange will offer a fiat-crypto and crypto-crypto exchange function only for investors, purchasers and sellers.   Buyout LLC Manager of BSM 2nd Street, LLC (also “Blank Spaces” or “Santa Monica Coworking”)   Santa Monica, CA  August 2014–December 2016  With investors bought out part of a co-working management company for three locations and also a location in Santa Monica. My company was the LLC manager. Initially it was a good investment in which my company returned roughly one third of investors’ principal investment. However, I became very concerned about a saturated market and decided to sell my stake with one other investor. I still retain a stake in the management company. I remain very interested in the industry when relatively cheaper leases are available. For now I sense there are better opportunities around.     President of Mongoose Capital, Inc. and Mongoose Income Fund, LLC   San Francisco, CA, New York, NY  January 2002 –December 2013  Founded commercial lender originating loans secured by automotive retail installment contracts (“Car loans” or “RIC”). Succeeded in growing to millions in fee revenue with balance sheet spread over several states in six years. Also ran small real estate division with successful hard money and mezzanine debt loans in several states including a mixed use condo development in Chicago. In 2009 started a limited liability company to purchase and collect RIC for its members. Mongoose Income Fund, LLC had several good years and returned its principal investment several times with some profit over its 4 year life, but I wound down the fund in 2014 due to declining market opportunities.     1997 through 2001, Independent IT Consultant while also at UCLA Business School   From 1997 to 2001 I worked independently as an IT contractor. Between 1998 and 2000 I was in UCLA business school, so I only did two jobs, but my clients included Fleet Boston Robertson Stephens, Charles Schwab & Co, Hambrecht and Quist (acquired by JP Morgan Chase), a startup, “Namesafe,” a NYSE-traded housewares company, Salton, Inc. and a few other enterprises.     Buyout of Resume-Link, Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL   Interim President and Director  1996 through 1997, president, 1996 through 1999, director  Negotiated and closed purchase of Resume-Link with oversight of two partners at William Blair & Company. The company was sold to the Tribune in 1999. I supervised programming of the first internet database of resumes that the company had as well as general management. My practice was acquired in 1994 and I worked for Peterson’s Guides, Inc. for one year doing the same thing in Princeton, NJ for the acquirer.
